10 things I did in August

So I haven't been here since April. It's 4am on a Friday night, I'm at home & I can't sleep.

1. Dyed my hair RED (though it's starting to fade :/)

2. Got a 3-day school week yipee!

3. Spent close to $200 on Lit books so far this semester, yikes

4. Was a GL for Hall 3's FOC!

5. Slipped and had a really bad fall down a slope...

6. Got really drunk at Joint Hall Bash (REALLY NOT COOL!)

7. Went to Ikea & bought lounge chairs & tables for our balcony in hall ^^

8. Ate supper at least 3 times a week = sloth + fat

9. BUT, I did go for a run around school for the first time ever!

10. Skipped my lessons thrice because I was drunk/drinking/clubbing the night before :( But, it was during add/drop week so I guess that's not counted?

9 out of 10 things I did were NTU related. That's all my life ever seems to revolve around these days.

Long weekend ahead, whoop!

Sparkle!

Bought this super awesome top coat that comes with silver glitter the other day and I'm hooked! The best part? It only cost me $2.50 from Aries ˆˆ OPI's Yoga-ta Get This Blue for the base!

sweet nothings

Every part in my heart I'm giving out
Every song on my lips I'm singing out
Any fear in my soul I'm letting go
And anyone who ask I'll let them know
She's the one, she's the one I say it loud
She's the one, she's the one I say it proud
Ring a bell, Ring a bell
For the whole crowd
Ring a bell, Ring a bell I'm telling the world
That I've found a girl
The one I can live for
The one who deserves
To give all my heart
A reason to fly
The one I can live for
A reason for life

Taio Cruz - Telling The World

Is that not the sweetest thing a guy can ever do?

Sigh, going to bed dreaming, wishing, hoping (that you would talk to me already)

BRAIDS BRAIDS BRAIDS

I've been having an obsession over braids lately!

Aren't they all pretty??? I tried Nicole Ritchie's braid hairstyle the other day but somehow didn't turn out as nice as hers. Maybe I should go blonde..

I wanna do something new and fresh to my hair but I don't know what to do! Since I'll be going to Bangkok in July, I think I shall be adventurous and do something crazy with my hair there teehee.

Was thinking of doing something like this! How? YES? NO? I really like the whole colour gradient thing! Wonder if I'll be able to pull it off.

I also want some curls in my hair but my hair's really really straight (naturally, of course). Whenever I use my hair curler, the curls hardly stay in place even though I use those hair products to ensure my curls last. Last week, I went to bed with 2 tight buns and when I woke up in the morning, IT WAS SO NICE AND WAVY <3 But then, after coming back from my morning lecture which only lasted an hour, my curls had all straightened out :( So that's why I'm kinda hesistant about going to perm my hair because I do not want to spend >$200 on my hair if the curls don't last.

Ok enough vain rants there. Went to this place for lunch the other day after my project meeting!

LOL it's like some random, really small place near Chinatown (Chris brought us there!) IT WAS SO PACKED. But the wait was definitely worth it. The five of us shared 2 bowls of zha jiang mian, chinese pizza (LOL what a name), pan-fried guo tie and 2 longs of XLB. They were all really good!!!!

Check out how huge these XLBs are. It doesn't really look that appetizing but the skin was really soft and the soup and meat so tasty. Yummers. Feeling hungry just from looking at that photo! I'm definitely coming back again! That is, if I can find that place on my own.

My dad's birthday was on Sunday so my mum took the whole family out for dinner. We went to Ootoya at Orchard Central!! My favourite Japanese restaurant that specializes in authentic, home-cooked Japanese meals.

My daddy the birthday boy

Wakame seaweed salad with a vinegar dressing - really nice and fresh!

Ootoya's croquette - best ever fried potato thing I've ever eaten.

This was what I ordered this time!

Steamed rice with Mutsu Bay scallops that comes with the most delicious chicken, tofu and egg soup ever (I don't know what it's called!)

And yesssss, my favourite side dish :> homemade tofu teehee.

Sigh, what an awesome weekend. Gillian had her 21st party on Saturday and it was a rockstar blast! Will update about it soon~

For now, I'm going to curl up in bed and cry because my weekend is over and I'm going to have to face another week of school.

MEHHH WEEKEND WITHDRAWAL SYMPTOMS :(

Night cycling + OC farewell :(

I should probably not be doing this right now. Like, I have a million other school-related tasks to do but I just can't seem to force myself to get started on them. Too many distractions lately. When will I get myself back on the academic track? Zzzzz.

Ranting aside~ I seem to have lost my knack for more interesting blog titles. OH WELLZ JUST GOTTA LIVE WITH IT PEOPLE.

Anyway, Hall 3's Elit3 Night Cycling was held last Friday! I was picked to be a GL (hehe what a joke since I've a damn weak cyclist) and hence I wore a different colour tee. ELITISM (get it??? My jokes are damn bad these few days, mah apologies)

Estee, Peiting & Ningjia, taken before we set off! I think this was taken around 10pm and I used my twilight portrait mode ^^ THIS IS DEFINITELY THE COOLEST PHOTO I'VE TAKEN. Albeit unintentionally...

Supper stop at Al-Azhar along Upper Bukit Timah. I was so happy, it's like one of my favourite supper places to go to! Anyway, I had Puri with Keema (mutton curry thing) and Masala (potatoes ^^). Puri is like... prata but thinner and way more oily.

Long rest stop at Esplanade Bay! I think this was around 3am? We stopped for about an hour and it was so hard to get back on our bikes again. My butt was hurting so badly.

Finally made it to ECP at 6am!!! One whole night of cycling, who would have thought I'd do it?

Hahaha okay and some random photos. Too lazy to do a proper update~

Gabriel's 2nd birthday on Sunday! He is seriously the cutest and most handsome two yr old. I have a feeling he'll grow up to be a damn good looking heart breaker haha.

Oh yeahhh. We had a B&J Orchard Central/Heaven's Loft Farewell party on Monday. Yes, we've closed down. *insert a thousand and more sad faces here*

Was lazy to use my camera so I shall wait for the rest of the photos to be uploaded. Anyway, since B&J OC has closed down, I got transferred to Cathay! So if any of you guys happen to be in the area, pop by for a visit please :)

Kinda sad that OC has closed down. Sure, I'll miss that place, and the awesome peace sign made up of pint lids. But what I miss more, is working with my darling scoopys. All of us got separated :"( Sue & Kasey got posted to Cathay with me but the rest got posted elsewhere. Plus, I'm so upset that all of us can't do Free Cone Day together this year. Last year's FCD was so much fun and I'm really gonna miss those times. And the free food. And desserts. And drinks.. And the awesome view from the loft. It's been a good one and a half years.

Had dinner with the B&J OC girlies today at Ootoya, which is just opposite our store. So weird to see it all dark & empty, and the peace sign is already gone D: GOOD THING OOTOYA IS MY FAVOURITE JAP RESTAURANT.

Chargrilled chicken with egg :) This is seriously damn good. Plus, I love that they change their side dishes so often. This time they served some cold tofu thing with shredded salmon and broccoli my fave. It kinda looks like baby food but it was really yummy :') And their miso soup is heavenly~ It actually comes with ingredients like kelp, potatoes, lotus root etc. SO GOOD. I LOVE OOTOYA.

We headed to Cold Stone Creamery that's located on Level 1 for ice cream!! I've been dying to try that for quite a while now and it didn't disappoint!!!!

Mojo Mud Pie - Coffee ice cream with peanut butter, peanuts, fudge and oero cookies. SO GOOD.

Every time I visit an ice cream shop (other than B&J's, duh), I feel damn intimidated because there are so many flavours to choose from!!! And esp since I work in the scoop shop too, I get damn irritated when a customer takes damn long to decide what to order or tries a whole lot of flavours. So yeah, when I'm at a scoop shop, I tend to be pretty self-conscious hehe cos I know how it feels to be behind the counter waiting to take an order.

Scooper: So, how did you guys hear about Cold Stone?

*Kasey & I looks at each other*

Us: Errrr we work upstairs!

Scooper: Oh really! Where do you guys work at?

Us: Errrr Ben & Jerry's

Scooper: Ooooooh okay. So please try our ice cream and see if you like it better than B&J's

LOL AWKWARD CONVERSATION OR WHAT.

And you think that it couldn't get more awkward than this... But when we were taking a group photo at Cold Stone, Lyna dared us to yell Ben & Jerry's. So when the Cold Stone staff counted 1,2,3, I never thought the girls would do it BUT THEY DID. Omg I wanted to die. Hahahaha it was epic though and we left shortly after that!! Anyway, Cold Stone is really awesome, different style from B&J's but definitely more worth it! I feel like such a traitor hahahaha but their smallest cup, "Like It" which is supposedly 4oz but feels like I had way more, is only $6.50 with a waffle bowl. SO CHEAP!!!!! Plus, their waffles are super freshly baked! Mine was still warm when I had it :')

Ps, a small cup at B&J's (3oz) costs $5.50!!! But then again, our ice cream is imported and our waffles are baked fresh every morning too hahaha ;)

Okay it's getting late. 2.48AM to be exact and I still haven't done any of my work on my need to do list. I procrastinate too much that I had to include the NEED to my TO DO LIST. I think I take last minute to a whole new level. Not very good but I'll try to work on it.

Feeding my obsession with glitter: bought a pair of Pink glitter TOMS & painted my nails whee~ (Sally Hansen's Black Out with some glitter topcoat I got from Aries. So cheap! $2.50 only!)

OK BYE EVERYBODY. PEACE OUT. ACE THOSE MIDTERMS Y'ALL.

*twitzz*
